Several children endure the harrowing temptation to eat a marshmallow in hopes of a bigger prize.

Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland

Alice in Wonderland Trailer! I have been known to have an obsession of two classics; The Oz books AND Alice in Wonderland. Ever since I saw AmericanAmerican McGee's Alice Mcgee’s vision of Alice I have wanted a film that could capture a darker more grittier Wonderland story. All I have to say is, this had better not suck.

Alice in Wonderland is an upcoming 2010 fantasy film directed by Tim Burton. It is an adaptation of the Lewis Carroll novels Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland and Through the Looking-Glass. The film will use a technique combining live action, motion capture technology, and stop motion. Mia Wasikowska will play the role of Alice, alongside Johnny Depp as The Mad Hatter, Helena Bonham Carter as The Red Queen, and Anne Hathaway as The White Queen.

I can’t tell you how TIRED I am of hearing from “Birthers” and their moronic claims. Thanks Jon for the debunking.

Wendell Potter, Former VP of CIGNA, speaks out against insurance industry

Part one:

Part two:

(From TheRawStory)

We’ve just been informed that Bill Moyers, on his show tonight, will expose for the first time the health insurance industry’s secret campaign against Michael Moore and his film, “Sicko.” It contains a stunning revelation and admission by a top health insurance executive — the former head of publicity for CIGNA, one of the top health insurance companies in the country — that the disinformation and attacks on Michael and the film were extensive and well-planned. Their job was to stop the movie from reaching a wide audience (and, more importantly, from having the widespread political impact the industry feared “Sicko” would have).

Wendell Potter, former Head of Corporate Communications at CIGNA (which provides health insurance to nearly 70 percent of the Fortune 100 companies) admits that, in fact, “Sicko” “hit the nail on the head” and told the real truth about how much better people in other countries have it when it comes to their health care.

Popularly called the “homeless hacker” for his transient lifestyle, Adrian Lamo spent most of his travels couch-surfing, squatting in abandoned buildings and traveling to Internet cafes, libraries and universities to investigate networks, and sometimes exploit security holes. Despite performing authorized and unauthorized vulnerability assessments for several large, high-profile entities, Lamo refused to accept payment for his services.

Hackers Wanted, a documentary directed by Sam Bozzo, covers Lamo’s life and times. It features Apple Computer co-founder Steve Wozniak, TechTV personality Leo Laporte, Digg and Revision3 founder Kevin Rose and narration by actor Kevin Spacey. The film explores the practical and ethical themes of modern computer hacking, intertwining Lamo’s story with those of controversial figures throughout history. (via Wikipedia)

“When asked, my source told me the film is still, sadly, on hold, but it’s not yet dead. My research and sources tell me that the movie is more likely to be found in a Dumpster than it is to be screened - Trigger Street inexplicably turned down an offer to screen at the Vancouver Int’l Film Festival.” (via eyecrave.net) Thanks eyecrave for the exclusive trailer!
